Earthcore/siglerverse RPG??

I got bored a while back and have started kicking around the idea of building a module around Eartchore and ancestor, and running a game with some friends who havent been exposed to scott's work.  I was wondering if anyone else ever thought of doing something along this line.  Also i remember hearing Scott got his start doing RPG books.  Might be a cool idea to whip up something like that (maybe under d20 system).  Just another way to spread siglerism to places it might not have reached yet.

FDO RPGs

Unisystem (Classic or lite) might also be a good fit for the FDOs work.

I cose D&D 4 because I promised some people to introduce them to the new version of the system, so what better inspiration than Earthcore?

I'll let you know in this thread how my plans on a one shot (lasting about 3-4 hours) is going.

It certainly won't be the whole story of Earthcore but something inspired by it.

Earthcore in D&D4

I am still toying with the idea to run Earthcore as a D&D 4 adventure.

A highly competent group of dwarven miners discovers a giant depot of valuable metal.

Some  overly cautious sponsor of said dwarves doesn't want to risk that someone else ambushes and robs the miners so they hire a group of adventurers.

Once the adventurer group arrives some tunnels have already been blocked/condemned as the death count mining there is too high and it still rises as Kruthik (check out MM p. 170)  try to destroy the whole camp.

Any other encounters I should put in?

**Grumbles about 4th ed.**

Do not mention that blasphemous excuse for D&D on the boards of the FDO.  I dont know what it is about 4th that I just can't make myself like it.  I just finally understand 3.5 enough to not have to check the book for everything, and now new rules, and no frelling gnomes! anyways, i would deffinitely play around with illithids.  I think it was MM 5 from 3.5 that was all about ilithids and their dimension ships and all that.  I dont have 4 MM so i dunno if Kruthik are similar or more close to rocktopi.  If they are in 3.5 manual then im just a D&D tard.

It's really not that bad....

They changed it around just enought so you can still look like a badass and it's not quite as lethal and give you more to do than swing your sword and whittle, there are some interesting new powers....  I think they could have done a better job on 4th but it;s still a hell of a lot better than I could do right now....

I'd like to play that one!

The Folks over at Dragons

The Folks over at Dragons Landing Inn www.dragonslanding.com have started working on a very modular system called CORE which is based more on cinematic roleplaying that would likely be a good mix for any type of game based off the FDO's twisted brillant mind.
